Shakespeare at Play



Shakespeare At Play is a Burbank, California based theatre company of professional award-winning actors, directors, writers, and producers, all of whom hold advanced degrees from US colleges and universities. Not only do many of the members work to put on successful shows, many are also teachers, and some are accomplished and published writers.

SAP actors have performed in vaious roles in theatres across the world, including New York (on and off Broadway), Beijing, and London. In addition, actors have also performed in shows at smaller regionaly theatres across North American and throughout the world. All actors who participate in SAP shows are highly accomplished.

All members of Shakespeare at Play receive absolutely no financial compensation for their time and effort. The organization is funded entirely by grants from corporations, individuals, and non profit organizations. In addition, the organizations that SAP benefits receive all performance proceeds and donations that are given. By attending a Shakespeare at Play show, you are supporting the creative arts in more ways than by simply attending.

Shakespeare at Play makes it easy for local schools and theatre classes to visit and learn about performing arts. Members are happy to teach students about their profession, and they are always willing to share knowledge. Students are able to watch great Shakespeare performances, and they may even have a chance to actively participate with professional actors, making this an even better experience for students of all levels.

Special performances are available, with the cast able to perform shows such as Hamlet, A Mid Summers Night Dream, Romeo & Juliet, Julius Caesar, Taming of the Shrew, "Off the Page," and "A Visit with Shakespeare," a one man show.
