January 17, 2011 will mark the 25th anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. federal holiday. This milestone is a perfect opportunity for Americans to honor Dr. King’s legacy through service.
The City of Burbank Retired Senior Volunteer Program –RSVP- would like to honor Veterans who have served our country by providing them with handmade items.
In order to achieve this goal, we are asking for donations of 4-ply yarn and flannel or cotton print yardage for quilting. The dedicated RSVP - Sewing and Knitting Group will create hundreds of blankets, quilts, scarves, and hats and present them to community organizations who serve our veterans.
Please bring your kind donation to Joslyn Adult Center, 1301 West Olive Avenue, Burbank. For more information please call 818.238.5353
