Burbank recently turned 100, and locals honor it with a supersized celebration – dubbed the “Party of the Century,” which took place in early July.
There was so much excitement and exuberance for all that Burbank stands for. The party was amazing and had something to offer all. Here’s a great overview that captures the evening perfectly:
The Party of the Century had tons of activities for the whole family. This all included flybys, parades, stages with entertainment, children’s entertainment, great food and so much more! The Party of the Century took over an entire six blocks of Downtown Burbank.
The evening capped off with a grand fireworks display! Residents also opened a time capsule and had great fun creating a new one for future generations.
Micky and Minnie Mouse also were on hand to help serve one of the biggest cupcakes anybody has ever seen! It fed 2,000 people and was deliciously and lovingly created by Porto’s Bakery & Cafe, Martino’s Bakery and Yummy Cupcakes.
A highlight for kids was the mascot parade, which was led by Bugs Bunny and featured Burbank High’s Bulldog, the John Burroughs Cheer Squad, Hootie the Owl, Domino’s Noid, Geoffrey the Giraffe, the H.T. Bee, Sergeant McGruff the Crime Dog, Burbank Fire Department’s L’il Squirt and many others.
