Burbank Chorale to Perform Shubert's Mass in G



The Burbank Chorale, under the direction of Mikhail Shtangrud, presents “The Sounding Joy,” the theme for their 2010 Holiday Concert. The Chorale will perform Shubert’s Mass in G and songs of the season accompanied by the Burbank Chorale Orchestra and noted keyboardist John Tveit. The Colburn Children’s Choir will be featured in a guest performance.

Founded in 1920, the Burbank Chorale is celebrating its 90th Anniversary in 2010. The Burbank Chorale is the longest continuously performing arts organization in the San Fernando Valley and one of the oldest musical organizations in the state of California. Throughout its distinguished history, the Burbank Chorale has won numerous awards and has performed at historic events including Olympic Chorus during the 1932 Olympic games held in Los Angeles and the World's Fair expositions in San Diego in 1935 and in San Francisco in 1939. In May 2010, members of the Burbank Chorale participated in the Memorial Day concert at Carnegie Hall under the baton of John Rutter.
