The Colony Theatre Presents The Anthony Street Production of ‘Italian Bred’
‘Italian Bred’ is Written By and Starring Candice Guardino.
Limited Engagement opens Friday, March 17 at The Colony Theatre in Burbank
The Colony Theatre is thrilled to present the Anthony Street production of ‘Italian Bred,’ written by and starring Candice Guardino. ‘Italian Bred’ will open 8 p.m. Friday, March 17 and runs through Sunday, March 26.
Based on true life events and told through the eyes of a little girl, ‘Italian Bred’ is a fresh and hilariously heartwarming comedy about growing up Italian on Staten Island. Having written down everything her loving and outspoken grandmother ever uttered, Candice slips in and out of multiple characters while sharing the stage with virtual cameos of Emmy Award winner Leslie Jordan (“Will and Grace”), Mario Cantone (“Sex & the City”), Steve Schirripa (“The Sopranos”), and Vic DiBitetto (“Mall Cop 2”).
Colony Artistic Director Barbara Beckley states, “We are very excited to be getting back into production through our partnership with Anthony Street Productions for this co-production of ‘Italian Bred.’ It’s a delightful show, and perfect for dipping our toes back in the water.”
‘Italian Bred’ comes to the West Coast after a successful off-Broadway run, where it received rave reviews and played to sold-out crowds. Before moving to The Colony, it was presented at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood, where there was standing room only at every performance.
Broadway World: “Much like the nostalgic scent of Sunday dinner, ‘Italian Bred’ will remind audiences of their own unique upbringing and unforgettably humorous childhood memories.”
Sirius Radio: “Guardino is charming, funny, and witty, plus she has a voice that can make angels sing.” Times Square Chronicle: “Once in a while there is that special someone that stands out from the rest.”
