There is no doubt about it; the land around Burbank is absolutely perfect for golfing. Luckily, several others thought that way, too. There is a plethora of courses from which to choose, but you better call ahead to make sure that you can get some time on the course. Some of the best golf courses in the area are private. If you can get in, though, you will be playing golf on some of the best courses in America.
The Lakeside Golf Club is one such private golf course. It was opened in 1924 after Max Behr designed it. With a par of 70, and a course rating of 71.9, the Lakeside Golf Club enjoys its status as one of the top 100 golf courses in the United States. For warm up or practice, there is a driving range on the premises.
You can find some great golfing in Burbank for the public, though. The De Bell golf course, which opened in 1958, is a municipal course. With a par of 71 and an overall rating of 68.8, this public course can rival any private course that’s out there. You will be pleasantly surprised at the beauty of the surroundings, too, as the course is framed by lakes and rolling hills. Even better, there is a nine-hole course that is perfect for those that don’t have the time to play a full game, but still need to find some way to quell the golfing desire.
You can also find hundreds of golf courses outside of Burbank, especially as you get closer to Los Angeles. The courses in this area have been designed by past and current golfing masters. The question is, however, with golf courses as amazing as these, why would you feel the need to drive to another city for golf?
